BIG BLUES FROM THE CANARY ISLANDS

Mr. Erich Grohe from Austria caught the three Atlantic Blue Marlin on a Black Kona Buddha from his diesel powered 6m boat. The 300kg and 160kg fish were both a solo effort.

The following is an extract from an email from Erich-
I was again in Gran Canaria for 4 weeks in August. A total of 24 fishing days out at sea.
In August I was accompanied by friend who is a newcomer of Big Game friends.
As I often go out fishing alone, I have equipped my small 6 meter Diesel motorboat with 50PS,
an additional steering gear and a remote control, so that I can use autopilot to control the
boat from the fighting chair. This way fishing the "big ones" becomes even more exciting.
It's also possible to catch a Marlin without any help. Every movement becomes routine,
but a small mistake and the fish is gone. This is Hemingway style at its best.
The fishing equipment are mainly PENN International 50,80 and 130.
